چکیده
We study the free energy of a heavy quark-antiquark pair in a thermal medium. We constuct a simple ansatz for the free energy for two quark flavors motivated by the Debye-Hückel theory of screening. PACS. 11.15.Ha, 12.38.Mh, 25.75.Nq

Charmonium-hadron interactions from QCD
The heavy quark system is an excellent probe to learn about the QCD dynamics at finite density. First, we discuss the properties of the J/ψ and D meson at finite nucleon density. We discuss why their properties should change at finite density and then introduce an exact QCD relation among these hadron properties and the energy momentum tensor of the medium. Second, we discuss attempts to calcul...
متن کاملHeavy quarkonium in a holographic QCD model
Encouraged by recent developments in AdS/QCD models for light quark system, we study heavy quarkonium in the framework of the AdS/QCD models. We calculate the masses of cc̄ vector meson states using the AdS/QCD models at zero and at finite temperature. Among the models adopted in this work, we find that the soft wall model most suitably describes the heavy quark states at zero temperature. At fi...
متن کاملQuark Probability Distribution at Finite Temperature and Density
Quark deconfinement phase transition at finite temperature and density is investigated in the frame of quantum mechanics. By solving the Schrödinger equation for a heavy quark in a thermal mean field, we calculate the quark probability distribution as a function of temperature and density. The confined wave function in the vacuum expands outward rapidly when the temperature and density are high...
متن کاملScale for the phase diagram of quantum chromodynamics.
Matter described by quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions, may undergo phase transitions when its temperature and the chemical potentials are varied. QCD at finite temperature is studied in the laboratory by colliding heavy ions at varying beam energies. We present a test of QCD in the nonperturbative domain through a comparison of thermodynamic fluctuations predicted ...
متن کاملQuark Fluctuations in a Chiral Model at finite chemical potential
During recent years the phenomenological importance of fluctuations in finite temperature/finite density QCD has been recognized [1]. The analysis of fluctuations is an essential method to characterize the thermodynamic properties of a system. Enhanced fluctuations signal the onset of a phase transition [2]. Thus, measuring modifications in the magnitude of fluctuations in heavy ion collisions ...
